This spring, she dwells at the water’s edge of Lillsjön, at Fagernäs in Mölnbo, at a beautiful site beyond repair and in the making, becoming Epoken. Across the water lies the nature reserve Uddaberg, within the larger ecological territory of Sjunda.
Here, in proximity to water, forest, and altered ecosystems, she takes form in relation to place, not fixed, but attentive.
During this period, she hosts a residency in collaboration with CAPIm (Centre for Art and the Political Imaginary). CAPIm is Sweden’s first Centre of Excellence in artistic research, bringing together artists, researchers and educators across institutions. The centre supports interdisciplinary practices at the intersection of contemporary art and the political imaginaries that shape possible futures.
Epoken, currently under formation, is a further development of Art Lab Gnesta, a site for artistic production, exchange and long-term engagement with ecological and cultural conditions.
Within this constellation, Solastalgia Pangolin is not alone. What appears as a solitary structure in the landscape is also part of a wider field, a network of practices, thoughts and relations. The residency unfolds here, at the threshold between water and land, where artistic work, lived experience and reflection take place in direct relation to the changing conditions of the biosphere.
